Fees

We will provide you with a free initial consultation of up to 10 minutes.
Transparency
Above all our fees will be transparent; you will never receive an account that is more than we have told you it will be.
Charging
We have two ways that you can engage us:
- You may elect a capped fee. See how this works under the Employee and Employer sections.
- An attendance basis where you pay for the time spent. Our hourly rate is $210 plus gst per hour.
We are proud of our competitive rates that will allow you to pursue smaller issues such as recovery of holiday pay, through to much more complex issues.

John Wood
Advocate and Mediator
Experience
John brings a unique mix to the employment relations space having worked as an employee, supervisor, manager, area manager, business owner/manager, employment relations advisor and mediator over his career. He has a strong understanding of how business works and how employment relationships work. This experience enables John to advise you on practical ways to resolve workplace issues, supported by a strong knowledge of the law.
John has over ten years’ experience as a manager, managing teams of up to 120 employees with a turnover of $20 million. Consequently, he understands when you talk cash flow and profit and loss statements, but he also understands matters at the individual level where the employment relationship is fundamental to business success. He has worked in several retail and service businesses.
John has over ten years’ experience as an employment relations advisor providing advice for employers, the small business operator through to larger companies. He provided advice on all employment relations matters. He also has extensive experience representing parties at disciplinary meetings, mediation and collective bargaining. As an illustration of this he has represented parties at more than 150 mediations and over 40 collective bargaining negotiations.
John also brings ten years’ experience as an employment mediator. During that time, he has mediated over 2300 disputes involving every type of employment matter. He has worked with the simplest issues of recovery of holiday pay, to very complex issues where parties are represented by more than one lawyer or QC. He has worked with small and large employers and has developed strong working relationships with union officials, advocates and lawyers.
John brings a great deal of experience as an employee. He spent six years working in the food and freezing industry while at school and university. He understands different workplace dynamics.
